I have been practicing law for more than 35 years on behalf of Wisconsin individuals and families who have suffered a loss caused by the carelessness of others. Prior to joining GCL I founded Laufenberg Law Group in 2000, and decided to join GCL because we share many of the same professional principles and standards which have guided me through my career.
Over the years I have been an active developer of Wisconsin tort law, appearing before state and federal appellate courts in numerous cases. My work in the area of products liability law successfully led to the formulation of the enhanced injury doctrine, which precludes consideration of fault of an injured party in causing the accident when determining liability for enhanced injuries. When I'm not working with my clients I enjoy staying active (cycling is my passion) and volunteering my time with the Wisconsin Association for Justice and the State Bar of Wisconsin.

If You Were Not a Lawyer, What Would You Be?
Probably a journalist or a teacher.
To Kill a Mockingbird. I re-read it every year for inspiration on a lot of levels.
